Apple Ginger Oatmeal

3/4 cup rolled oats

1 1/2 cups water

1/4 tsp sea salt

1 Tb butter

2 Tb candied ginger, finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 Tb brown sugar

1/2 apple (most finely diced, leave 2-3 finely cut pieces for garnish if you feel like being fancy)

Small dash of cinnamon for garnish

Put the oats, water and salt in a saucepan and bring the water to a boil.  Reduce heat and bring liquid to a simmer.  Add the remaining ingredients (except for the garnish), stir occasionally, and  cook at a simmer until the liquid thickens and becomes creamy (approximately 15-2o more minutes, depending on how you like your oatmeal).  Of course, taste tests along the way are critical to success!  Remove from the heat, serve in bowls, garnish, and Enjoy!
