When we went to Boston in the fall, we had a great meal at Craigie on Main, complete with cocktails, appetizers, wine, main dishes, desserts, and even after-dinner drinks. It was a fun, foodie experience and definitely a dinner we’ll remember forever.
One of my favorite parts of the entire meal was my cocktail before dinner. I was a little hesitant to order it when I saw that its main ingredient was scotch (because while I LOVE bourbon, scotch is something Gardner drinks on the rocks, which makes it seem more intense). After a little encouragement, I decided to give it a shot.
This is a great drink to try if you’re not sure you like scotch – the fruit juices and the elderflower liquor cut what would otherwise be an overwhelmingly scotch-y flavor for scotch beginners (like me). We googled the recipe soon after we got home, and have altered it a bit to suit our tastes and budget. It has joined the regular rotation of cocktails in our house, and we’re pretty sure you’ll like it, too. Enjoy!
