As we first mentioned in meatless May, one of the joys of going without meat this month is celebrating the warm, sunny summer. Shifting from warm, comforting, hearty winter meals to light, fresh, spring/summer meals has been a real treat. For me, at least, this tuna recipe really captures the feeling of upcoming summer.
The recipe itself is extraordinarily simple. As with a lot of good food, it’s best to just let the fresh, delicious ingredients shine on their own and not get in their way. If you’re in a hurry, but want a delicious, gourmet, (and really good-looking) meal, we definitely recommend this seared tuna.
By the way- have you noticed the recent appearance of broccoli in our meals? This is a happy discovery of meatless May: baby broccolini from Trader Joe’s. We just put it in the oven at 450 for a few minutes with salt, pepper, and a little bit of olive oil. Simple and delicious!
