It’s been awhile since we posted a side dish… and we thought it was high-time that we let you in on a little secret: We LOVE sweet potato fries. This recipe came from a hilarious book called Freakin’ Fabulous by Clinton Kelly. Yes, the Clinton Kelly on TLC’s “What Not to Wear” show…and yes, he has published a book (a few, actually!). Maybe we should be embarrassed to own this book, but we aren’t – it’s actually full of awesome tips and recipes. (Anyone want to buy me his next book entitled Oh No She Didn’t about fashion mistakes? I won’t be offended, promise.)
Before Sandy and Kate gave us this book, we were excited about roasted sweet potato spears and sweet potato fries (not the same thing!), which are both slightly less awesome than these spiced ones. Generally, spicy foods aren’t my favorite (although G loves spicy things), but these aren’t all that spicy and they’re just plain good. The sour cream and honey concoction cuts through the spiciness and leaves you craving another and another and another fry, which explains why we’ve been eating these at least once a week for the last month.
