Santa was very generous this year and brought us, you guessed it, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, which on our frugal budget, we couldn’t afford. The recipes within, though, are well worth any price and we’ve really enjoyed reading through it. This was our first recipe that we tried from the book, and it was great.
One peculiar aspect of this recipe is that it requires no time in the oven – it’s all done over the stove top. Neither of us have any French relatives who make ratatouille, and this was surprising to us. Nonetheless, the smells that wafted from that stovetop were marvelous and we’re sure to come back to this recipe many times.
