This is delectable. Who knew that honey and walnuts on pizza would be my new favorite thing? I guess this could be considered “dessert pizza,” but we ate it for dinner (as part of the Pizza Trio), and thought it was great.
Before baking:

1 recipe pizza dough $1.28
1 pear $0.60
4 tablespoons honey $1.20
1 cup walnuts, chopped $3.00
2 ounces pecorino cheese $1.00
Total cost = $7.08
Slice the pear into thin pieces, then cut in half (or cut the pear in whatever bite-sized shape you prefer).
Shave the pecorino into thin slices.
Spread the pizza dough onto a pizza pan and drizzle with olive oil. Place a layer of pear pieces on bottom. Top with about 1/3 of the walnuts and 1/3 of the cheese. Drizzle with honey. Repeat. Repeat. Top with any leftover walnuts.
Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.

ENJOY!

This recipe is from la bussola, in Florence Italy. I found it a link to the restaurant on a food blog (thepinkpeppercorn.blogspot.com) – and just reading the blog made me want to bang my head on my desk. WHY don’t we live in Europe?!?
